New job post by HMD Global hints at a return of Nokia Phones Beta Labs and Android Developer Preview

As per a job listing posted on Linkedin, The Home of Nokia phones - HMD Global is looking for a "Software Project Manager" who will be responsible to create new projects and take care of existing ones within the company.

The Software Project Manager will be working on existing projects like the Nokia Phones Beta Labs and Android Developer Preview which means we can expect these to return sometime in future. The manager will have to make sure the pre-release software for devices is of high quality and is bugfree before it is released.

HMD Global is now getting serious about improving the software quality which is good news for end-users as it will lead to fewer bugs and better user experience overall. The SW Project manager will also be responsible for taking feedback from the beta testers. So, we can expect a lot of activity on the Nokia Community forum.

Additionally, the software manager will be working on a new start-up project which will be focussed towards internal testing and verification. This could be some tool for testing internal software, replicating the reported bugs to work on a fix, etc. But it could be something totally different.

The Nokia Phones Beta Labs and Android Developer Preview projects have been on a pause for a long time now and I guess these will be active once again within a year. This is a very positive move and we should now expect the software quality of Nokia smartphone to get better over time.
