Nokia Mobile has expanded its affordable smartphone range in India with the launch of the Nokia C31 today. The device is aimed at basic users and comes with a big battery pack and a clean Android 12 software experience out of the box. The device is free from unnecessary apps that take up a lot of storage space and screen area. Clean software experience alone makes it a great option for many basic smartphone users and is the biggest plus point of the Nokia C31. Nokia Mobile also promises two years of quarterly security patches.
Nokia C31 comes in Mint and Charcoal colour options. I personally like it in Mint colour the most. The phone is powered by an updated UNISOC SC9863A1 12nm processor which should be a bit more power-efficient compared to the older SC9863a chip. To keep the lights on the phone also gets a pretty big 5050Ah battery pack which should easily last for more than a day and a half of usage. Nokia C31 comes in two memory configurations 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB.

The phone has a large 2.5D curved 6.7" HD+ display that comes with a brightness boost feature improving readability under direct sunlight. On the imaging front, the Nokia C31 gets a tried and tested 13MP main camera which should perform pretty nicely in this price bracket even if you compare it to the namesake "48MP" or "50MP" high-resolution cameras on budget smartphones. The second 2MP depth sensor is not much but should definitely help a bit while clicking photos in portrait mode. There's also a 2MP Fixed Focus Macro camera. On top of all, the camera app is from google so you can expect some pretty nice quality photos in this segment. The selfie notch in the display houses the 5MP front-facing camera. The phone packs a big 5050 mAh battery and there's also a Super Battery Saver mode enabling which aggressively improves battery life by allowing just a selected few apps to work.
