Nokia 2.2 with Selfie Notch and Dedicated Google Assistant button launched. Price, Specifications and Availability details inside

Just as expected, Nokia Mobile launched the new Nokia 2.2 today in an event in Delhi. It'll be the company's cheapest Android One device retailing for 99 Euros globally

Nokia 2.2 focuses on bringing AI-powered features at a cheaper price tag. Google Assistant is arguably the best voice assistant in the world right now. Even though all of the current Android phones have it, the dedicated Google assistant button is what makes the Nokia 2.2 stand out. Like Nokia 3.2 and 4.2, the Google assistant button has a tap, double tap and tap and hold actions.

With Nokia 2.2, HMD Global is trying to improve the imaging experience in low-end devices. The 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras use the latest AI-powered algorithms for better HDR and low light performance. With sophisticated AI-powered low-light image fusion, the camera snaps multiple images simultaneously and through advanced algorithms creates a single image with more light, greater detail and less noise.

The phone is made from polycarbonate with a glossy finish. The back cover is removable and can be customised using the Xpress-On covers, which are sold separately. The battery underneath is also removable. But the capacity has been lowered to 3000 mAh, which is a solid 1000 mAh down from the Nokia 2.1.

The display is a 5.71” HD+ panel with a selfie notch. The aspect ratio is 19:9. HMD claims that the panel can reach a maximum brightness of 400 nits which should be helpful to read under direct sunlight.

Under the hood is the Mediatek Helio A22 SoC, which is a quad-core processor clocked at 2GHz. There are 2 or 3 gigs of DDR4 RAM for multitasking. You'll get 16GB of storage for the 2GB variant and 32GB for the 3GB variant. It can further be expanded up to 200GB via a MicroSD card.

The is no fingerprint sensor here, however, you can use biometric face unlock. There is also liveliness detection which, HMD claims, can't be fooled by a picture of yours.

Like other Nokia smartphones, Nokia 2.2 is a part of the Android One program which promises 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security updates.
