New update to Nokia C12 adds a small nav bar customization option

Nokia C12 is the latest affordable Nokia smartphone that comes with Android 12 Go Edition and a promise of receiving quarterly security updates. The phone has been getting maintenance releases timely since its launch but today the update brought something new which was a surprise.

The latest maintenance update V1.290 for the Nokia C12 is 209MB in size and brings the April 2023 Security patch. The changelog only mentions the regular "Improved System Stability and User Interface Enhancements" along with the security patch month but the update this time also added a new feature to the device. After installing the update, it prompted me to change the system navigation style and I found that Nokia Mobile has now added an option to customize the 3-button navigation bar. Users will now be able to mirror the buttons such that the back button which is usually seen on the left side can now be moved to the right side. Check the screenshots below:

This may not be a big feature for many but it is useful for people who still prefer the 3-button nav bar and have switched from a phone that had a different nav bar layout. Also, it's great to see features coming to phones via software updates from Nokia Mobile which I feel is a very positive sign. It would be so much helpful if Nokia Mobile also started writing the changes and feature additions in the update changelog itself.
