ARCore support coming soon to Nokia 8

ARCore is a software development kit developed by Google that allows for mixed reality applications to be built. Currently, only a hand full of devices are ARCore supported. This list includes Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco too.

Today Juho Sarvikas, the CPO of HMD Global has announced that Nokia 8, the 2017 flagship for Nokia will be joining the list soon.

No specific date has been given by him, as expected. But we might see ARCore enabled for Nokia 8 along with the July security patch.

Once it is enabled for Nokia 8, you can install ARCore app form the link below:

ARCore integration allows Android smartphones to become compatible with more than 300 Augmented reality games and apps available in Google Play Store.

If your device is not ARCore supported, then you can try the Motion Stills app by Google to enjoy augmented reality on your phone.
