LEAK | Nokia smartphone with punch hole display leaked in high quality renders

HIGHLIGHTS

  • First Nokia smartphone with Punch hole display
  • 6.22" Full HD Display
  • ZEISS Dual Cameras and Dual LED Flash
Notches on the phones will soon become a thing of past as more and more smartphone manufacturers try to find new ways to increase the screen real estate with the latest one being the Punch-Hole displays. As per a new leak by @OnLeaks, Nokia Mobile/HMD Global also has a device with this punch-hole display design and this could be the new trend in smartphone design we will see in 2019.

OnLeaks, who has been highly accurate with his leaks, shared high quality renders of an upcoming Nokia smartphone which has a hole on the top left corner of the display for the front facing camera. The phone carries a similar glass sandwich design which we saw on the recently launched Nokia smartphones like the Nokia 6.1 plus and Nokia 7.1. Check out the images below.

As per the leak, this Nokia smartphone will come with a large 6.22" Full HD display, Dual ZEISS optics cameras at back with Dual LED flash and will measure 156.9 x 76.2 x 7.9mm (9.5mm with camera bump) in size. The images also reveal a 3.5 mm Headphone jack at the top, USB type C charging port, speaker and microphone at the bottom of the device. At back we have an Android One logo at the bottom, Nokia logo at the centre and the fingerprint scanner can be seen just below the camera housing.

Onleaks has temporarily called this device as 8.1 plus but there's no confirmation on this. Personally I don't think this could be the real name as Nokia Mobile just launched the Nokia 8.1 and also announced that they will be removing the "plus" from their device names to simplify the naming scheme. The design and features point more towards a mid range smartphone and I am assuming this to be the Nokia 6.2.
