Last year, HMD Global brought back the legendary Nokia 3310 in a new avatar and as per new rumors, HMD Global is again planning to bring back another legendary Nokia phone i.e. the Nokia 8110 aka The Matrix Phone. Polish website Spider's Web has published some realistic looking renders of the Nokia 8110 (2018) and mentioned that the device could be launched by HMD Global today at their MWC Launch Event.
I assume Nokia 8110 (2018) to be the Nokia TA-1048 which recently passed the FCC. The long and narrow looking design of the Nokia 8110 (2018) matches the dimensions of the Nokia TA-1048. Nokia TA-1048's dimensions made it look like a long and narrow phone which completely matches this device. So, this could be a clue that the info shared by Spider's Web is correct and we could see the rebirth of a Legend at today's launch event.
As far as specs are concerned, Nokia 8110 (2018) will be a 4G feature phone, have WiFi and will run on YunOS. It will have a removable 1200 mAh battery. The estimated price of Nokia 8110 4G is said to be around 79 euros and is said to be available from May onwards.
I really like the design of Nokia 8110. It looks beautiful in bright yellow color and is surely an eye-catcher. This device will surely attract a lot of attention at MWC just like the Nokia 3310 (2017) did last year. If this info and images are true then we should see the device being announced at the Nokia Mobile's MWC launch event today.
