Nokia 7 receiving Android 9 Pie in China

Nokia 7 launched in October 2017 is a 1st generation mid-range Nokia smartphone exclusive to China. The phone came running Android Nougat out of the box and was later updated to Android Oreo. In June this year, Nokia Mobile started the Android Pie beta testing for the Nokia 7 under the Developer Preview program.

The testing is finally complete and Nokia Mobile China has officially rolled out the Android Pie update for the Nokia 7. The update version is 340C.B202 and is 1663MB in size and will require 3332MB of free space to install. If you imported Nokia 7 from China and you haven't received the update notification you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > System > System Update.

Nokia Mobile promises two major OS updates and 3 years of monthly security updates for all their smartphones. As Nokia 7 came with Android Nougat out of the box we assume the Android Pie to be the last major update for Nokia 7. However, Nokia 7 should still get monthly Security updates for one more year.  We will have to wait to see if Nokia Mobile still pushes the next major Android release for Nokia 7. ☺️
