UPDATED | New update for Nokia 6.1 plus removes the option to hide the notch.

Nokia 6.1 plus Notch

Nokia Mobile rolled out the August Android Security update for their newly launched Nokia 6.1 plus. The update is quite big at 381.8MB in size and brings system stability improvements along with Google's latest August Security update. You can learn more about Google's August Android Security patch at Android Security Bulletin.

But this update has caused issues for some Nokia 6.1 plus owners. Usually, updates add more features to the devices or fix some known issues but according to few Nokia 6.1 plus owners on Nokia Community forums, this new update has removed the option (Status bar style) to hide the notch from the Settings. This should not be a problem for those who love the "Notch" but the ones who don't like the notch are having some trouble in getting used to it.

We are not sure why this feature was removed but we hope that Nokia Mobile is listening to users complaints and will bring back option to hide the notch as soon as possible with some future update. We will update you once the fix has been rolled out. Stay tuned.

UPDATE

Here is a good news for all Nokia 6.1 plus users who miss the option to hide the notch after the latest software update which removed this feature. Juho Sarvikas has announced on Twitter that the option to hide the notch will be enabled on Nokia 6.1 plus. He didn't mention any exact date when this feature will be enabled but this should happen soon as many users are waiting for it.

Below is the tweet.
